Everyone knows that having a positive atitude is an essential facet to being happy and healthy. Here’s a few good thinking tips that will help keep your chin up and your head held high. It can be challenging to have a positive outlook on life, when life throws your curve balls and your plans don’t pan out the way you hope they would..
The 1st of my staying positive advice is to practice and make it into a habit of asking the right questions. What do I mean by this? In retrospect, our mind-set is mainly based on the questions we ask ourselves on a daily basis. Don’t believe me? Just watch your own thoughts for an hour or so. A good deal of people today frequently make the same mistake of asking themselves the wrong questions. Questions like “Why does this always happen to me?” or “How come life has to be so hard?” These questions are based on the assumption that “this” always happens to you, and that life is, in fact, hard. Thoughts like these will only reaffirm this to you and becomes a self fullfilling prophecy.
What if instead, you started asking yourself questions that were more resourceful and more optimistic? Maybe things like “How did I get to be so fortunate?” or “What am I grateful for today?” These reinforce a lot more positive beliefs into your mind and help you stay positive. It might be challenging at first to modify your thought process (since you’ve been thinking and asking yourself the same style of questions for awhile), but is the results are worth it.
Another one of my positive thinking tips is to start keeping a gratitude journal. This could be as effortless as keeping a little journal by your bed and writing down everything you are grateful for that happened to you that day. Just jot down a page or a certain number of things that you are grateful for in your life. This can be anything at all. In my gratitude journal, I once wrote down “I am grateful I caught the bus to work just in time today” and then the next day I wrote “I am grateful I missed the bus because it gave me time to read the newspaper in a cafe while I waited for the next bus.” If you apply this into your every day life, you will start to look at life with an optimistic attitude, helping you remain more positive.
My last positive thinking tip is to sit down and write about your desired life, specifically the way you want it to be. Make sure you write down every single detail. In my experience with this, I wrote as much as ten pages worth of specifics on how I desire my life to be. I described where I wanted to live, how much money I wanted to make, what I wanted to do for work, and all the wonderful places I would travel to. This may take some time, but I guarantee you that doing this will make you feel great, help you really concentrate on your goals,and put you in alignment with your dreams.
Stick to my advice and soon you start to see life in a different perspective. Remember, you control your thoughts, your thoughts controls your emotions which will help control your desired outcomes all with positive thinking.
