And if we don’t have it we presume miserable and like we’re losing out on the one thing that will make life better. More peaceful. More beautiful. Because, in the end, “everyone else has it”. But we don’t and that we know it.
But we WANT it.
You want our life to work well, look well and feel good. We want our life to think that a lazy afternoon on a beautiful summer day. We’d like it to be stress- less, free-flowing and heck, we even like it to smell good. Huh?
O.K., I admit, I want my life to wear some perfume, but I’m not sure about you. The only I want my senses to return alive with all things beautiful and peaceful.

But I was required to learn, I hate to say it, to choose the flow. Because if I resist the flow, strangely I’m seeking teases me from a distance, yet is in plain sight, only an arms length away. Tantalizing me using the thing, the experience, the peace-of-mind I would like from the thing we know as BALANCE.

Therefore, when we yearn for a well-balanced life we have to get moving AND toughen up. We’re going to get bumped and bruised along the way. And that’s OK, because each bump and bruise causes us to be stronger. It also makes us grateful with the times when we have no worries and challenges and find the opportunity to sink into the sweetness in our life.
2. Balance = Perfect
We’ve all already been through it. “When” such-and-such happens my life will THEN be happier, peaceful, balanced. Phooey! No such thing to be a perfect life. If no-one has ever said it to you before, I’m saying it again; There isn’t a SUCH THING AS A PERFECT LIFE!
Now, don’t misunderstand me. As a personal growth enthusiast, I actually do think you can create a life that works well and feels great. Absolutely. But that’s nothing to do with perfection. They have everything to do with acceptance.
We can’t have the flow and find the sweet equilibrium of balance if we can’t accept our life for what it is today. Acceptance of what is releases us from the must have things different, better, more. Acceptance we can experience the NOW more fully. It allows us to let our hair down. Acceptance allows us create our lives from a present way of thinking. And the only way to feel “balanced” is actually. Not tomorrow. Not yesterday.
Balance is all about the NOW and has absolutely nothing to do with perfection.
3. Balance is fluff.
Certainly not. However, I do agree, the wonderful pictures we see in TV ads as well as in magazines make balance appear somewhat fluffy. But in reality, the real right down to earth experience of balance is way from fluff. It is real. It’s a state of present moment consciousness. It’s something we can easily feel in our body, in our minds and in our sprits.
We can create balance by tuning into our gut, our intuition and our feelings. We could listen to what our soul wants then give it what it wants. Balance is a thing we create on the inside, not something we “find” on the lateral side. Balance isn’t so much about what we all do; rather it’s about who we’re being in each moment.
Balance requires our whole selves. It requires acknowledgement and awareness. Quite simply, balance is a state beyond what words can describe.
Then when we feel it, we know it.
